I'm drawn to designs and fashion with an identity. Spaces that leave an impression resonate with me. I like to take risks and though I am pretty much a new englander on many levels, a part of me definitely belongs in L.A. ! With that said, I love the work of  L.A. designer Wendy Schwartz , it's edgy but livable. I really can't wait to move, I'll use my place as a laboratory of sorts....I'll be sure to try a few over the top but tasteful ideas..They usually photograph beautifully. Happy Wednesday.

Sponsor Welcome: Shades of Light!

I love Shades of Light. They are my "go to" for everything from chandeliers to table lamps. They also have great furniture pieces and rugs! Be sure to see their entire site for more amazing pieces. Here's a small sample of their diverse selection. I'm dying to use this chandelier on a project.

Gnarly

{Steven Gambrel's beach home - I'll post the rest if you'd like} find a similar table here .. I love when found objects are transformed into furniture, accessories, art etc.. in this case I'm referring to driftwood. You can't go wrong mixing one of these in with other causal or {not so} pieces! {Kelly Wearstler - Sands hotel} this version available here ! Chase Booth's bathroom as seen in Domino the mirror above is available here ! Image #1 - Steven Gambrel's Sag Harbor home scanned by Shelter from Rooms to Inspire in the Country

Chandelier Love - Paris Flea Market

I love to mix classic and modern elements in my designs. At this point most of my clients seem to admire the same style..The Paris Flea Market Chandelier is a "perfect" classic piece to mix in with more contemporary objects..in the photo above, the artwork, console, oversized vases and wallcolor prevent the room from becoming tired.. {designer Timothy Whelan } a few examples {click for link} Jenna Lyons home {of course} and an "improvised" version of one..The New J.Crew Bridal Store. and finally "sconces". images: Timothy Whelan Design , Mary McGee , Domino, Vogue, Emma Jane Pilkington via Style Court , J. Lamp Love (idea)

was on one of my "daily favorites" Habitually Chic , Heather {lucky girl} has been visiting Sag Harbor this week and stopped into Ruby Beets {love this store} and shares some photos. I've always loved vintage glass, Ruby Beets can custom make you a lamp from a selection of french bottles {sample above}..that's also an idea for my "CarBoy" find! {below}

Loving..

Turned wooden lamps - in a causally chic kind of way.. This lamp is named Colby {my son's name} - It was a possibility for my living room, the name might of sealed the deal, plus it will work well on the credenza I am designing for the television. It's a snapshot from Michelle Adam's {of Lonny and Ruby Green } office and you can purchase your very own lamp here , from my latest sponsor Outer Banks Trading Group . I featured their gorgeous selection of pillows last week..check back for a give away from OBTG soon! Happy Wednesday!

Add some sparkle

Chandeliers and pendants are the perfect way to enhance a dining area. I often tell clients that if they don't have the budget for a dining room overhaul that a dramatic paint color on the walls and a beautiful new light source on a dimmer switch will transform a lackluster room!! The options are endless...Here are a few to gush over. From top to bottom: Caboche by Foscarini , Troy Crystal from Zia Priven , BPL by Rotaliana , nickel pendant by Zia Priven , Dome by Ingo Maurer , Vintage Fixture-1st dibs, Bamboo from Pieces, Inc., Cage Light by Circa Lighting, Coral from Mecox Gardens
