Cottage Love #23

You know I have a love for smaller homes that are beautifully finished. They tend to pack a punch but don't take as much time to maintain! California Bungalows are up there as one of my favorites. In fact, I'd most likely move out west if I didn't worship my family here in Massachusetts. (I also can't leave now until my children are 18) Don't get me wrong there are so many things I love about the Boston area but after this winter a longer warm season would be much appreciated!! This lovely home is that of comedic writer Erin Foster. Her new show, Barely Famous , airs on VH1. I'm loving the light, layered style. It feels fresh, updated and attainable. I was actually working on a project today with a similar feel! Erin hired designers from the company Spruce . I also have to mention that DOMAINE is one of my favorite online design magazines! They never disappoint! I think I'll be tuning into her show tonight @9:30/8:30Central.

Cottage Love #22

I took a quick business trip to Chicago last Friday for my Ace Hardware design expert gig! We filmed a short studio segment. It was fun! I always take the opportunity to catch up on some magazine reading while I am traveling.. Like you, I'm tiring of the frozen tundra that I call home!  I rely on a bit of escapism to lift my spirits. I was thrilled to see in the   March issue of HGTV Magazine ,   an article featuring home owner Natalie Lea's colorful Houston ranch. Natalie worked closely with designer Bailey McCarthy on the project. The overall inspiration of Natalie's home pays tribute to her mother, who passed away of cancer. Natalie's abode brightened my day. I hope it does the same for you. Just look at all the beautiful design details! Natalie's interior designer, Bailey McCarthy, is also the creator of Biscuit Home . - be sure to check her great shop and bedding line out! xx This front door and wall paper are fabulous. I need a front door with so many glass...

Rustic Chic

My blog and work is pretty telling, I love color!  That however doesn't mean I don't have an appreciation and love of neutrals too. I'm drawn to neutral palettes that include a variety of textures and finishes. Fashion designer, Jenni Kayne's , rustic Los Angeles home is a stunning mix of sculptural objects and sophisticated colors and textures. I would love a textural white window seat like the one she is sitting in. Jenni also has a fashion line of clothing, be sure to check it out here  and here . Have a great weekend!! I'm off to gather together more items for my Thanksgiving table and photo shoot next week. I'm excited to see how it turns out!! Cottage Love #15 - Beach Chic!

I've long admired designer David Netto's aesthetic, with Fall in full swing I'm really turning my thoughts and time inward, both literally and figuratively. I'm focusing on my home and have a goal to finish the entire interior before Christmas!! Fingers crossed! This David Netto designed water front home is perfection! I love the use of wood and paint. Paint is a wonderful way to transform your home, even on a smaller budget. Here, David has done so masterfully with his color choices and strategies.  The painted floors, ceilings and interior of the bookshelves look divine. I also love the use of whitewashed/bleached flooring. I actually have a floor being re-done as we speak for a client right this week! We are having the floors sanded and white washed. I also have a decorative painter coming in to paint an octagonal pattern over an area! I'm so excited to see the outcome!! Eek! These blue floors are fabulous!!

Cottage Love #17

Ever since I came across Chloe Warner's work about 6-7 years ago I have been a fan. She worked with Kelly Wearstler (another risk taker) before striking out on her own. I think the reason why I enjoy her designs so much is that they aren't overly formulaic looking. Chloe's spaces flow seamlessly and look as if they have evolved over time.  These images are of her own home she shares with her husband and two children.   read more and source  - via Lonny

Cottage love #16

Hello, hello...I'm back with another beautiful home on this gorgeous Monday ;)... I am always so excited to come across an inspiring home to share with you all. This week's beauty is Kathryn Stockett's (the author of the book, The Help ) fabulous abode. It is located in a suburb of Atlanta and it does not disappoint. I will be forever drawn to white bungalows and this version with the addition of large iron windows is a stunner! I honestly can say I would take the outside view of this house in a second, just add a pool and I'd be in heaven. All images courtesy of Atlanta Homes + Lifestyles magzine. Those doors!
