Love the Look

Good Morning! I wasn't able to share last week's look I am adoring, so I'm kicking off Monday with my usually mid week post! You all know I am a big fan of the high-low combo. It's also a good idea to never look like you are trying too hard. (wink wink) Alexa Chung has this idea down! Here she perfectly combines a dressy blazer with simple jeans. She chose the perfect pump to finish off her outfit. I also included my go to lipstick . Can you stand how adorable that Hillier Bartley bunny purse is? 1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7 // 8 // **I've shared a high and lower priced pump option.

Hello Friday, it's always nice to see you! It's been a busy week and I've been fighting a damn cold. I am drinking my third cup of tea today as I type this. 'Tis the back to school season I guess. With that said, I am getting excited for all of the upcoming holidays. It's a hectic but fun time of year. October is full of birthdays in my family. (including my own) and it kicks off the celebrating. I'm not a huge Halloween person, my kids complain that we don't have any scary decorations out front or around the house...tough life they have! Here's what I've got the "feels" for this week! xx 1. French dressing (as I have mentioned before). I spent some time checking out all the street fashion during the "Fashion weeks" around the globe, I think Paris was my fave. I mean, look at her!! This image further confirms that my simple hair style is OK! I do own a fat barrel iron and adore the pretty curls but more often than not I don't ...

Hello Friday 💗. With no meetings on tap today, I honestly could have worked from the comfort of my bed. It's been windy and rainy all week and we are all ready for some sun shine up in here! Besides the hilarious posts on   Man Repeller   ,  here's   what else made me happy this week! 1. I design a lot of kitchens, I'm always searching for new inspiration that has not been shared everywhere.. This kitchen is so cool, I also appreciate a house that looks lived in..Don't you??  2. I need, want and must get a   signet bag . This green and snake skin version is dynamite!! 3. I am always on the hunt for a boot with a narrow  shaft  calf but now wider boots are all the rage.  This version  reminds me of something my Mom would have worn in the 80's but I'm sort of digging the change and look. 4. Which brings me to number three, the boots in number in numero two would look fab just like this! You could rock a trash bag Olivia!! 5. God I love go...

Love the look - Fall 2017 trend report

I honestly get my inspiration from all over the place so it's tough to pin point a few sources....I do however, spend a good deal of time googling and searching Insta and Pinterest with certain phrases, two being = Paris fashion and NY street style. I don't love the cold but I must admit I'm kind of excited to layer and mix my clothes this Fall. I approach my outfits and rooms with the same panache. Chances are if you bump into me on the street during the colder months I'll have some sort of sweater, scarf + funky jacket combo on! I'm also itching to rip apart my closet and reorganize. Here are the hot Fall and Winter trends I'm seeing everywhere! Scoop them up while you can! They're good this year. xx - PLAID + CHECKS  - DENIM, DENIM AND MORE DENIM - TUCKED IN SWEATERS - see inspiration image!  - CHERRY RED - I DON'T WEAR LOTS OF THIS SHADE BUT I DID SAVE A SWEET PAIR OF CHERRY RED CORDS I OWN. I AM HAPPY ABOUT THIS  MOVE! I AM THINKING THEY'LL BE P...

Happy Fri-yay!! I had a great design meeting today with a client I have worked with in the past! A big part of my business involves building relationships. I love watching my clients lives evolve and their families grow. The personal connections I make through my job is one of the most rewarding aspects! I was working away on quite a few projects this week so my brain is in need of a day off.. Here is what caught my eye in the process! Peace out, have a relaxing weekend! 1. I designed a nursery yesterday. I love creating spaces for children that they can grow into. Designer, Nick Olsen did just that with this beautiful nursery design. Image via Veranda. 2. I'm kinda digging the platform wedge shoes that are out right now. They are stylish and comfy..A win, win in my book! 3. God, don't we all know this!! I've got to learn to move on a bit better. 4. I've decided to finally finish my personal photo wall in my home. I loved this mix of images and the simple framing used ...

Love the look

As you may have heard the  Coachella   festival   begins this weekend. I can't even begin to blog about it because I have never been but you can be sure if I lived in the California area, I would be going. It looks pretty amazing! I love music and enjoy hearing new bands: so let's just say it's on my bucket list, plus visiting california is always a good idea. From what I have seen it has a pretty casual vibe..So I put together a typical "music festival" look for today's love the look post...... Here's the look: Links: #1 - top, see below. I actually love the custom ordered ones.   / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 10 / #2 . and #5. Are available at ShopBop , they are having a 25% off of the entire site sale!! Use code: Spring25 at checkout. #6 - More on this fabulous skin care line to come!!! ( I am going to do a entire blog post on it - I have a slew of samples coming in the mail. I am excited to try them out) And you know how neurotic I am about wearing s...

Friday, oh how I love you! I was at a meeting for most of the day but I wanted to end my week with a Shelter Loves post! It just wouldn't feel complete without it. Here is what is on my radar! 1. These fabulous baskets by artist Eliza Gran . She sells them at a number of shops. I love Amber's colorful shop, she has them too !! They would make a fun Easter basket!! 2. So true!! Take risks and dream big! 3. I am adoring the  v-back shirts and sweaters trend this spring. Find a similar one here . 4. Navy is a great alternative to black in the spring and summer months. This classic Tod bag would last you a life time. 5. I've created an  "if I ever" board on Pinterest. Follow it here ...It's filled with "if I ever" moments, such as: If I ever get married again, If I ever get a dog, etc. I think you get the picture. In any case, If I ever get married again (cause who knows, right?)  There are pros and cons to being single and being married!! It is surpr...

Vacation Style - Take me away!

Today I'm playing, let's pretend ! Let's pretend for five minutes that I am actually jetting off to Palm Springs for a long weekend! Here is a sampling of what would be in my travel bag! I LOVE so many of these pieces.... Wishing you a lovely week! Warm sunny days are ahead for all of us....xx 1. Bikini / 2. Sweet bag / 3. Sunblock*** / 4. Necklace / 5. Amazing frock / 6. Espadrille / 7. Tube top / 8. Graphic Shorts / 9. Flat, gold sandal / 10. Sunglasses / 11. Hat *** As I have mentioned I had invasive surgery twice on my face, last fall and this winter. One area required MOHS surgery on a basal cell cancer and the other was a Squamous cell carcinoma, which also required MOHS surgery. I have been very thorough about my sun protection for about ten years now. I always wear sunblock on my face. I caught the basal cell area on my nose a couple of years ago but was told it was nothing. When in doubt? Have them biopsy an area even if they tell you it isn't anything. Because...

Wow, big surprise, it snowed again!!! One of my favorite things about blogging, besides reaching out to the world and my wonderful readers, is the focused attention it takes. When I am blogging I am lost in another world and only thinking of creating..This morning I virtually visited Palm Beach! In a way, this escape, is free therapy but without the co-pay, sidewards looks or leaving the house!! ;) 1. I designed this kitchen for a young family and posted it a couple of weeks ago. (photo below). I had a few readers ask for the source of the art. Often times, out of respect for my client's, I do not share all of my design sources. In this case, I will. The artist's name is: Donna Walker. I love the colors in her paintings. See more of her work here.   This piece perfectly completed this colorful kitchen. Photo by : Ann-Marie Rollo 2.  I know milkshakes are usually a warm weather treat, but I may break the rules today and order a chocolate/peanut-butter version at the diner ...

2015 Oscar Awards Red Carpet

Happy Monday! Did you have a chance to catch the Oscar's last night? I watched the first half but couldn't stay awake for the ending. Here are my thoughts on the red carpet fashion.  Nothing blew me away but there were of course a number of beautiful moments. Neutral gowns were a top choice. Some I loved, some not so much. Here are my picks! FAVORITES: Lupita Nyong'o custom made pearl dress by Calvin Klein was a sophisticated stunner! Not many women could pull this look off. Lupita was radiant in this beauty, it was created using 6,000 pearls. Lupita is quickly becoming one of Hollywood's fashion icons. I adore her style. Sienna Miller is gorgeous!! She would look smashing in a paper bag but I also loved the Oscar de la Renta dress she wore. Again, the intricate cut out details did not compete with her hair or jewelry. Rosamund Pike's Givenchy dress was a wonderful choice for her. I am usually not a "red person" but her minimal hair and jewelry selections ...

Here is this week's round up. We are in need of some serious pretty and color up in here!! The snow, don't get me started on the snow!! The 100+" (no joke) of white stuff we have around here is starting to get to everyone. I've been trying to keep a very positive attitude this winter. In fact, I've been beginning my day with a few daily affirmations. They actually seem to be helping. With that said, I could STILL use a little color and warmth in my life right about now! How about you?? 1. Loving Tory's latest spring bag collection . Look at all that color!! These would pair well add the perfect pop of color with a neutral outfit.. 2. This yellow trench from J. Crew is adorable! Yellow is a hot color this Spring. You'll be seeing lots of it. 3. PEACE - we all need a bit more of it... 4. I am going to a fund raising gala next Saturday night and am going to wear my hair up. I want to incorporate a braid into the look. I feel younger in braids. :) 5. Kelly Kli...

I've been inspired by pretty little things lately, I'm doing anything to get through this winter. My assistant Meg and I were just talking about how all the snow hype is sorta making the time go faster!?! Or maybe we are just optimists!! Here are the beautiful moments that caught my eye this week. 1. Pretty "smallish" pieces of jewelry. As much as I wear chunky jewelry I do like the simplicity of wearing a few delicate pieces together. With Valentine's Day approaching I can't think of a better time to add one to your wish list. Here are the links for the ones pictured: from top to bottom: Swallow cuff , heart ring , love bracelet . 2. This sophisticated, clean living room. 3. I'm making Valentine's Day dinner for Matty and the kids this weekend. I might bake sugar cookies for dessert. I thought these were so lovely! 4. True dat ! 5. Ohhh Blake, you are my girl crush. She is so beautiful..

1. I have to give a loving shout out to my hometown of Marshfield, Ma . I love living in this seaside town...but living near the water has drawbacks during large storms. I am thankful my home and family were all safe during the blizzard this week, but much of my town was under water and a number of people lost their homes due to the storm surge. My thoughts are with them! xo The picture of the beach above is about five minutes from my home. The second picture (below it) was taken yesterday during the high tide. The water literally took over much of the small village area of Brant Rock. I have never seen this area so flooded in my life, the waves were crashing over the seawall and into homes. ( I grew up in Marshfield and am back after leaving for 17 years). 2. Sometimes we all need to remind ourselves of this... 3. I love a feminine mix of floral and leopard print. This image is making me rethink my daughter's room rug choices. 4. Art is subjective, but these cheery watercolor pri...

Love the look - New Year's Eve

Big plans for New Year's Eve?? I'm going to lay low this year with my kids, Matty and hopefully a few others! I won't dress up too much but I'll wear something a bit festive. Here is a great outfit for a night in with friends, a toast of bubbly and yummy food! All links below... 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 I may also take the time to make a seafood or clam chowder for either New Year's Eve or for this weekend when we head up to Vermont! This seafood chowder looks delicious.   via this site. seafood chowder 2.0 . . . Seafood Chowder 2.0 recipe: inspired by Rose Dyer and Jackie Huskins This chowder is very much like Beaucoup Seafood Chowder, but better, because I added a little of 2.0 and his family. (Not to be taken literally.) 3/4 cup butter, divided (divide into: 1/2 cup, 1/4 cup) 2 medium onions, diced 2 large carrots, peeled and diced 2 stalks of celery, diced 3 medium potatoes, peeled and diced 3 cups (approximately) sodium reduced chicken broth 1 lb. cooked lobster, chop...

There is a fine line between chic and tacky.... I love me a leopard print but never want to over do it. The leopard coat is close to crossing that line but if it's done well and worn with the right mix, I think the look would be so fun to wear!! Here is an example of it done right, she looks adorable!! And the details on the look.... 1. Similar coat here . 2. Classic Ray-Bans 3. Black hat 4. Every girl needs a pair of faux leather (or real leather if you want to cough up the $300+) pants. 5. Kate Spade clutch 6. Love knot ring

WOW! How is November almost over and Thanksgiving just two days away? I wanted to share today's post before I head out to run a zillion errands. There's lots to love lately.....Here is a round up of my current favorites! 1. I have a fireplace and I'm going to light it for the first time on Thursday! Everything about a fire instantly warms up a home. This simple screen is the one I'd like to have... 2. You can't go wrong with a little suede bootie. I live in them all winter season. This is the Fulton by TB. Adorbs! ;) 3. Art work brings depth and a personal touch to your living space. I discovered this piece by artist Kindah Khalidy on Furbish Studio yesterday. 4. J. Crew is having a 30% off your entire purchase sale today. This cozy look is adorable...buy all the pieces here . (Have I mentioned I am slightly obsessed with vests?) 5. So TRUE! I admit, I love staying in and relaxing.....especially by a fire with a glass of wine and a good movie. 6. I think I found a...

Love the look - holiday style

TGIF! I've decided I need a bit of sparkle in my life! It seems I've mysteriously developed asthma (have never had it) since I had my Mohs surgery on my nose. Strange? Yes! Annoying, Yes! In any case, I am literally praying it passes and carry an inhaler every where. I certainly have an appreciation for all the poor people who suffer from it?! Awful. Onto the fun part of the post.....How cute are these sequined pants? You can pair them with virtually any simple top and a pair of sandals. No sandals? You need a pair pronto. They are a closet staple and look fab dressed up or with jeans!! xx - have a great weekend! Here's a high and low version of the look!! High(er) 1. Milly pant 3. Joie gilded sandal Low(er) 2. Urban Oufitter pant 3. Shutz sandal JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content.

Friyay at last!!! I've been working from my home office all week. I haven't felt up to venturing out much with this puffy face and semi-black eye. This has however given me a chance to work on some design boards for my fabulous clients. I, I'm sure like you, tend to overbook myself on a weekly basis.  It has been productive working only from home..... Here is what I'm adoring today! 1. These Sorel boots . They tend to sell out, so I'm purchasing my pair early this year. I know the slush and sleet (boo) are right around the corner! The farmer's almanac is predicting a chilly, stormy winter. ;) 2. I was sad to hear of Oscar de la Renta's passing. He was truly one of America's most beloved fashion designers. His career spanned half a century. I've always admired his beautiful haute couture creations. I've read he was a wonderful mentor. One of his most recent wedding designs graced bride Amal Alamuddin Clooney this past September. 3. My post wouldn...

Love the look.....

I'm heading to a Patriot's Game on Sunday, this is about what I will wear. I'm not an over sized game jersey sort of girl but I want to be comfy and practical. It looks like a sunny day too, so I'll be loading on the sunscreen. That's where my back story comes in: I had to have some basal cell cancer removed from my nose yesterday. It was a long procedure and I then had a plastic surgeon close it and stitch it up. I was pretty un-prepared this am for not only how swollen my face would be but the size of the enormous stitched up wound on my face! UGH. I'm paying the price now for spending too much time in the sun as a teenager. Don't get me wrong, I'll always go to the beach, but I will NOT leave the house without at least a 30spf sunblock on my face! I don't want to be a Debbie downer but I am however offering my advice to all you beautiful people. If facial sunscreen isn't a part of your daily routine, I would highly suggest adding it asap. xx H...
