Shelter Loves....

Happy Fri-yay!! I had a great design meeting today with a client I have worked with in the past! A big part of my business involves building relationships. I love watching my clients lives evolve and their families grow. The personal connections I make through my job is one of the most rewarding aspects! I was working away on quite a few projects this week so my brain is in need of a day off.. Here is what caught my eye in the process! Peace out, have a relaxing weekend! 1. I designed a nursery yesterday. I love creating spaces for children that they can grow into. Designer, Nick Olsen did just that with this beautiful nursery design. Image via Veranda. 2. I'm kinda digging the platform wedge shoes that are out right now. They are stylish and comfy..A win, win in my book! 3. God, don't we all know this!! I've got to learn to move on a bit better. 4. I've decided to finally finish my personal photo wall in my home. I loved this mix of images and the simple framing used ...

Sweet as pie....

Hello Tuesday! My weekend was fabulous, I hope yours was too!! I needed a pick me up post today. I'm missing my son's first day of first grade tomorrow so I am feeling a bit weepy about that. (I have to jet off for a quick business trip today). How precious is this nursery?? I love that it is a room to grow into....... Design by Carla Lane.   at the Santa Barbara Designer Showhouse. Thoughts on home....

My apologies for not posting much about my house revamp. I sort of needed a financial and mental break from it all this summer. I have however been dreaming up a ton of ideas and have a "to do" check list a mile long. I would love to finish out one space and have decided to finish off my children's bedrooms. My son's room is almost complete but I have an empty wall and he has a ton of books! He has always loved to learn and have books read to him. I've been keeping my eye out for some kind of shelving system to both organize and display his rotating and growing book collection. (his current obsession is Sharks) These shelving units become a beautiful art wall in a sense. I've included the resources below for two different options. I'm going with the "card display" shelves, the price can't be beat. The more expensive version appears a bit more substantial. Second source

kiddie quarters

Hello, hello. I hope you're having a great week. The weather has been amazing in Boston, as the summer slowly creeps by I need to re-group and refocus on the "home search". I'm moving this October. eek, it's quickly approaching. It's sort of a bitter sweet move for me. I have many fond memories in this home and so many great friends in this area but I'm ready to move on and start fresh someplace new! (and of course I'll keep all of my friends) Sadly, my life sort of imploded when my daughter was only 9 months old so I never got to truly finish her room. It's about half way there, so I'm really looking forward to finding the perfect little home for all of us. I'm not there quite yet (and luckily have a wonderful place to stay while I look) but I do know that I'm pinning away and am full of design ideas, and color inspiration so hopefully I'll get to put those to use soon enough! Right now I'm drawn to green and yellow..or better ...

I've used a few before on a project, they're beautiful}

I know you've seen it...but I LOVE it..

I know these two spaces are all over blog world today...but Betsy Burnham's design sense is so up my alley, her attention to detail is crazy-good! _ {and on a side-note..I've been reading Albert Hadley - The Story of America's Preeminent Interior Designer . It's a very entertaining read..i guess for the design obsessed like myself} I love so many of his textile and wallcovering prints; especially his "fireworks" line above, I would love to use this on a project soon... Double Take..

Yesterday I was flipping through the June issue of Coastal Living when the nursery photo's of swimsuit designer Marysia Reeves baby's room stopped me in my tracks..I couldn't believe how many elements were similar to my son's room that I designed three years ago. You may have seen the shots of my little guy's room featured on La Dolce Vita - May 09'. - zebra rug, the horizontal stripes, the lamb, the white canvas drapes, the crib design Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not implying anything here, I just thought it was a strange coincidence..I guess great design minds sometimes think alike! Here are some other photos of Marysia's "surfer chic" {one of my favorite styles} home! I absolutely love the turquoise interior of these cabinets! More beach friendly design moments from this month's Coastal Living! And also a home designed by Sasha Emerson LOVE designer Sasha Emerson's collection of Madeline Weinrib rugs! Swoon! Images: S...

Couldn't Resist!

I think when choosing a piece of art it should move you, speak to you and this little guy just did! So I bought him for Emerson's room! I discovered this watercolor among many others via the Etsy shop of Italian artist DIMDi via High Street Market {one of my newer favorite blogs - she sells some amazing finds}! Can't wait to see my piece..I'm slowly but surely gathering unique goodies for my little pumpkin's nursery.

The state of things + weekend flea market find!

There's a close up for you..I love to scour flea markets, I'm afraid my children will too, because I drag them along {neither seems to mind}! This weekend I purchased this green/blue glass "carboy" as I was told it's called. They are used for making beer and wine, which is fitting as I love both..I'm going to fill it with water and long grasses from my yard. My dream is to someday have a {very small} store that would house my design office and revamped flea-market finds. I really have a love of lamps and chairs, but I've run out of room..{would also love a small barn or garage someday - a makeshift workshop} Also, an update on Emerson's room. See the concept here , if you missed it! I purchased these amazing letterpress graphic posters. Each is signed by the designer. I don't want to go overboard with sticky sweetness, so I thought these would be perfect. I like the message and the design. I'm going to have them individually framed for above th...

While I'm on the topic of Jonathan Alder , I have to share this adorable pillow. I don't think I can resist it! {available at the end of the month}
