Al fresco with friends

I love this time of year. The weather is finally warming up in Boston. It doesn't get be much then dining outside with amazing friends, wine and good food. My friend is coming over Thursday night with her kiddies, our children will run around the yard while we sip wine. I've decided that I'm going to make Avocado and grilled corn salad. It's delicious. I'll most likely serve it with a side salad, with some grilled chicken and a crusty french bread. Dessert is going to be ice cream sandwiches. If you're pinched for time and can't make the homemade version just purchase cookies from your local bakery and fill them with your favorite ice cream or sorbet. (I think that's what I'll be doing on Thursday) I love the concept of this image,  delicious food displayed for all to enjoy. There's something very romantic about dining under the stars Avocado and Grilled Corn Salad with Cilantro Vinaigrette 5 Ears Corn, husk removed, brush with olive oil and gril...

Loving

this classic duplex designed by Christina Murphy interiors! Oh and thank you so much for all the well wishes for my Nantucket get away. It was a blast!! I can't wait to return this summer. I was then off to Chicago for a crazy, busy day yesterday. Glad to be home, and now I'm dealing with a leak in my office. ;)  ahh the craziness of life continues.... I love this color combo. Bright moss green is so fabulous. I'm currently using it in a project myself!   Adorable!

Seriously, break out the china

{I have long loved this image and Kelly Wearstler's china patterns for Pickard (below) - am very into these colors right now!} My husband and I celebrated our seventh wedding anniversary last night {not sure where the time goes}, we relaxed at home over dinner, wine and dessert with our three year old son. {Emerson our 7 month old daughter was sleeping - this is a rare occasion really}. After reading Amy Dragoo's quote via La Dolce Vita yesterday, I decided I had to break out our china! Here's Amy's motto: Life is too short, eat off the good china! I couldn't agree more Amy. It's the simple details, that make the difference! So tonight, I encourage you to "eat off the good china". It was really nice, I think I'll do it more often...

This image sealed the deal..

I'm sure you've seen this recent image from Elle Decor or via blog-land..I LOVE this dining room and have been contemplating what I want to do for dining chairs in my home. Louis XVI style dining chairs have been all the rage for a few years now, but I'm still drawn to their classic lines and clean style, they virtually work with almost any "look"..this photo pretty much sealed the deal for me last week. {all of these photos did actually} Ballard Design has a similar style available in a white finish, for a great price. I'm going to cover them in a parrot green linen {see color below}! Another decision off my list - check. How can you forget this fabulous shoot of Katie Lee Joel's house in Domino? Love the look and the chairs of course. top image: 1st dibs (a bit out of my snack bracket) bttm : Ballard Design My color inspiration.. Let the sunshine in..

love the windows, airiness and play of light in all of these spaces..if you live down south I'm sure you've had a chance to throw open the windows..for now, I'm counting the days! images: via desire to inspire, Elle Decor, Tria Giovan , via just beachy , country living, jeffrey bilhuber , ?, jay jeffers

Sunny Side Up..

{be sure to check out Elva Fields new Spring collection. swoon.} the weather report in Boston is looking grim for the next few days...I'm counting the days till Spring {although it doesn't truly warm up here until May} but at least we're heading in that direction! I find yellow so uplifting, I prefer to use hints of this color rather then swathe an entire room in the hue! I've long admired the Darryl Carter room {image 1} pictured. I have a photo of the entire room someplace, if I find it, I'll post it. The yellow painting was actually the impetus for one I created in my own home. {will post soon}. That fabulous pop of yellow is the perfect backdrop for such a glamorous chandelier! I cannot lie, I'm so loving little girl clothes right now..
