Who said a ONE piece can't be chic??

My post baby stomach isn't ready for the world this year, so I'm opting for my first one piece ever this summer!! There are a ton of great options out there right now, gone are the days of frumpy suits!{thank god} I'll most likely end up buying a black suit from who else, but J.Crew !! Have a wonderful holiday weekend! images: J.Crew, Vogue, Allure

while I'm on the subject..

of fabulous prints and fabrics, you have to check out Rikshaw Design's latest offering!! These amazing Kurta's are the perfect piece for your summer wardrobe! I love the feel of these casual bohemian tops! for more check out Catherine's site here ! What's your favorite? + a bit more fashion news.. Tucker by Gaby Basora is collaborating with Target on a fashion line this summer! Look for it mid-summer! I adore her edgy pieces, but not the steep price tag! Can't wait to see her Target line!

Fabric Love

Just wanted to share a few of my recent favorite fabrics! Clarence House - you really can't beat the color and creativity of their prints! {Flowering Quince - above, a long time favorite} this funky floral would make great large pillows in a neutral room! These floral prints from Abigail Borg are divine! {the second is a contender for a personal project} Jane Churchill - this may end up in Emerson's nursery..I'm thinking big bed pillow! or a bolster!

Lamp Love (idea)

was on one of my "daily favorites" Habitually Chic , Heather {lucky girl} has been visiting Sag Harbor this week and stopped into Ruby Beets {love this store} and shares some photos. I've always loved vintage glass, Ruby Beets can custom make you a lamp from a selection of french bottles {sample above}..that's also an idea for my "CarBoy" find! {below}

The state of things + weekend flea market find!

There's a close up for you..I love to scour flea markets, I'm afraid my children will too, because I drag them along {neither seems to mind}! This weekend I purchased this green/blue glass "carboy" as I was told it's called. They are used for making beer and wine, which is fitting as I love both..I'm going to fill it with water and long grasses from my yard. My dream is to someday have a {very small} store that would house my design office and revamped flea-market finds. I really have a love of lamps and chairs, but I've run out of room..{would also love a small barn or garage someday - a makeshift workshop} Also, an update on Emerson's room. See the concept here , if you missed it! I purchased these amazing letterpress graphic posters. Each is signed by the designer. I don't want to go overboard with sticky sweetness, so I thought these would be perfect. I like the message and the design. I'm going to have them individually framed for above th

Inspiration..porch-sunroom

{board copyright of Shelter Interior Design} I'm running off to a client meeting so I only have time for a quick post..I thought I'd share an inspiration board {I'm big on mood boards} for an enclosed sun porch we're revamping! This particular client is a young family that resides in a classic old home down the street from the beach. I wanted to create a fresh, welcoming space with a mix of "old fashioned" + modern elements! Happy Monday! {can't show you the finished design ideas until the client approves them} {here's a bit more inspiration} Images: Shelter, coco cozy , Meg Braff via Coastal Living , Elle Decor, Domino, Elle Decor via Remodelista , Elle Decor, Amanda Nisbet, ?

ONE WORD

HOT {very much looking forward to Mad Men this summer} {i've been jumping from my kids to work all day, so I took a quick inspirational breather {was actually looking for design inspiration} but came across Brigitte Sire's site via this is glamorous . Okay, i'm set, back to work! {sorry honey ;) } Oh and I think I'll add a weekly post to my blog entitled "one word", it will encompass anything that comes my way that I feel worthy of sharing with you! peace out and happy weekend!

So glad..

I hung on to most of my wide leg pants from a few years ago..because they're back in a big way..loving the ease, print+ cut of the Trina Turk Rudi pant. the dress is pretty cute too. {how I wish I could get a scarf to stay on my head like that} Enjoy yourself this weekend!

That's it...

The house next to mine recently sold, it had been empty for a while..for me that means I need to make a move on my window treatment decisions sooner then later. My kitchen and dining room feel more like a fish bowl then a home. I'm going to order the kitchen treatments first, for functionality and the occasional "air-born" bowl of spaghetti {hurled by my son of course}. I need a choice that easily wipes clean. After being inspired by the above image, it was clear that bamboo blinds were the perfect solution. They're durable, affordable and work with a diversity of styles. I'm ordering samples today from here and here . images: Ruthie Sommers via Traditional Home, Lonny, The Decorista

Picture Perfect - Room of the Week

I'm totally appreciating fresh, clean, uncluttered white rooms right now. I've always thought it'd be kind of cool to have a cream, Eames lounge chair in a reading room, sort of like the one below....{green drape + all) ;) image: asheandleandro via coco and kelley , Domino

Too Much Stuff?

How much is too much? {above image} I just spent the better half of three days going through my closet and son's old clothes to prep for a huge "boutique" consignment sale north of Boston . I think my new motto will be quality not quantity ..I had one too many couldn't pass up the price and fleeting purchases in my giveaway pile! Don't get me wrong, I adore clothing and fashion, but it's the Clutter - I can do without. I could deal with any of the closets below, but I still ask myself, would I wear all this stuff? or should I put some of the cash towards say - my children's future! {the true test will be tonight at the preview sale! - check out the sale if you live in the area, a percentage of the proceeds go to charity} Kelly Wearstler's closet I'd take this closet {with the Kelly Wearstler} rug shown above ANYDAY! Love the simplicity of this idea. Kids grow so quickly and trash everything, so I try not to over buy for my little ones.. Shoe st

In the garden part I - Container Inspiration

{foliage works well in shady areas} We've actually had a "Spring" in Boston this year, typically we don't. The temps usually leap from 50 to 80 within a matter of days, {without much in between}, so this year I've had a chance to get a jump on my gardening. I thought I'd add a "garden" to my weekly posts for the next three weeks. {look for 1.2.3}. My goal is to finish up my containers soon, they are such an easy way to add drama and color to your garden, porch, entrance or balcony. Here's some inspiration. Most garden centers should be well equipped to help you with the names of the pictured plants..{I've included a few} {Roof top} Better Homes and Gardens included the plant types for us! {I usually plant herbs on my back porch, they also work well indoors if you don't have any green space outdoors} {A modern approach} {Container Breakdown} Images: Martha Stewart 1-4, Real Simple, Better Homes and Gardens, Martha Stewart, ?, Countr
